World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the 15 specialized agencies of the United Nations (UN). WIPO was created in 1967 “to encourage creative activity, to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world”. They do this by bringing stakeholders together to develop global intellectual property (IP) agreements, as well as help countries, businesses, and individuals use IP to improve lives. They also are responsible for providing the data and economic intelligence that enable strategic decisions.

Letter from the Chair
Dear Esteemed Delegates:
Welcome to JHUMUNC XXIII! My name is Cammie Berman and I will serve as your chair for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) committee. I am so excited to work with all of you!
I am currently a sophomore at Johns Hopkins from Baltimore, Maryland, majoring in International Studies and Economics. On campus, I am involved in my sorority, the International Studies Leadership Council, Hillel, and the club field hockey team.
This is my second year at JHUMUNC. I was introduced to MUN at JHUMUNC and have loved learning from this conference. Last year, I served as a DAIS on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) committee.
Good luck and lease feel free to reach out to me for any questions, comments, or discussions, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I cannot wait to work with all of you!
Chair, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
