General Assembly Sixth Committee – Legal (LEGAL)
The United Nations Legal Committee, the General Assembly Sixth Committee, is a forum that primarily addresses the legality of international law and other legal matters regarding the United Nations. As a member of the Legal Committee, delegates discuss, debate, and consider the legal frameworks of controversial and imminent issues facing the international community. The Legal Committee is responsible for a wide range of topics including the annual report of the Internal Law Commission and other issues referred by the Bureau of the Assembly. Items on the Agenda included in discussion included international terrorism, negotating euiqtable trade statues, and limitations on Peacekeeping tasks. Our task as a committee is to promote the progressive development of public international law to better the international community.
