The committees of the General Assembly (GA) are the largest ones in the United Nations and have universal representation among recognized sovereign states. Through diplomacy and cooperation, these states form comprehensive resolutions to address widespread global issues. The General Assembly is also responsible for establishing the budget for the United Nations, selecting members of the Security Council, and appointing the Secretary-General. This year, our General Assembly committees will address a diverse range of topics, such as worldwide health issues, the complexity of legality, reliving actions of the past, and establishing goals for a futuristic society. Additionally, JHUMUNC XXIII will introduce a collaboration between GA and Specialized, linking the House of Commons & Her Majesty’s Government in order to address the issue of Brexit.
