Giving Back: Fundraising at JHUMUNC
Strong City Baltimore
JHUMUNC 2019 is proud to announce that this year’s fundraising proceeds will be going to Strong City Baltimore! Strong City is a grassroots, non-profit organization that helps people who do good do more, emphasizing community-based initiatives and leaders. They empower grassroots leaders to carry out their visions of community change, and JHUMUNC 2019 would like to be part of empowering the Baltimore community.
Strong City Baltimore supports and partners with numerous local organizations to make change throughout the city. It currently serves over 130 fiscally sponsored projects, independent nonprofits, and direct programs with expert administrative, financial, development, and management systems. Through fiscal sponsorship, community leaders and social-change makers can access a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status and the necessary financial and administrative supports so they can bring meaningful, positive change through nonprofit work. The initiatives that Strong City supports raise well over 14 million charitable dollars annually.
Strong City Baltimore has been enhancing the capacity of residents and social change makers to improve their communities for 50 years. For as long as JHUMUNC has existed, Baltimore City has supported us. It is time to give back to our community, which has allowed this conference to exist, and Strong City Baltimore will make our city stronger.
